This early nineteenth century barn partially collapsed in severe winds in 2000. The work to reconstruct the barn involved detailed research into the original materials and construction methods, which were reproduced as far as possible. The remaining unbroken bricks and some of the timbers, including the main tie beams and dragon ties, were salvaged and re-used. The walls were rebuilt using locally produced lime mortar, and the roof was tiled with peg tiles. The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings provided technical support, and the works were carried out by a specialist contractor.
